I plan on buying the 9700X combo with ram and motherboard. I am also looking at the Thermaltake Assassin 120 SE with 2 fans. I'm going to build in a Fractal Design Define C case which comes with one fan in front for intake and one in back for output. I plan to use my 970 graphics card for now, but plan to upgrade. Will the two fans work for now or do I need to add case fans now as I build the system?

When turning on computer, occasionally CPU temps max out

I recently built a new PC (Ryzen 7 9800x3d and Lian li trinity ii performance AIO). Everything has been mostly fine except twice now, when I boot my computer in the morning the CPU temps have maxed out and the AIO fans go to max. Doing a hard-reset solves the issue, but its happened twice now and I'm not sure if my pump is breaking or not.

Anyone seen anything similar before? Is it possible I added too much thermal paste and it is causing issues?

Can I buy a white NZXT Kraken 360 AIO Through Micro Center?

I plan to build a new PC using the NZXT H9 Elite case, and would like to use the NZXT Kraken 360 cooler. But it appears that Micro Center does not sell it in white; only in black. New Egg sells in white, so I know its available. Can I buy a white one through Micro Center?

And if not, what is a good alternate. Of course I want it to look good with the white H9 Elite case, but I also want to be able to display temps on the LCD screen on the cooler pump. Any recommendations?

Any word on what the replacement in-store will be for the unexpected absence of DeepCool products, specifically air coolers? Seems like they filled an important gap, as that $40-100 price segment is looking woefully underrepresented now and is typically the "sweet spot" for price/performance. Could Scythe see a return to shelves? Thermalright? Or maybe Montech would make the most sense, since they already seem to have a good working relationship (or more) with MC. Just curious if anyone has heard anything substantive.

can't change it in crate, in ai suite 3, nor in the bios itself

i did have this serviced at micro center themselves (they built it)

I recently built my pc and it is my first time using an AIO and after getting everything up and running a couple of days ago I noticed one of the fans on the aio is upside down. so one is blowing into the case while the other is blowing into the radiator. so far Ive had great performance and itll be a bit of a hassle to take it out again and I dont want to do it unless I know it to be neccessary.

Microcenter recently assembled my PC about six weeks ago. I've been experimenting with changing the fan speeds via the LConnect 3 software for my Lian Li Galahad ii Trinity performance AIO cooler. I noticed on the motherboard there is spot for the AIO plug but nothing is plugged into it. I have no control over the fan speeds and the software isn't even detecting I have fans. Should a plug be going from the AIO to the motherboard via the AIO Pump pins, or is it controlled another way? Here are my specs

Core i9-13900K

Asus Geforce RTX 4090

Tuf Gaming Asus Z790 plus wifi

32 gb ram 6000 mhz

So I'm planning a CPU upgrade once Black Friday rolls around and I'm eyeing the Ryzen 7 5800x3D.

To give background, since 2020, I've had a Ryzen 5 3600 with the Arctic Freezer 33 with one fan and it's been serving me well ever since. On idle my CPU seems to stay at 45-54 degrees C, and when playing games the highest it goes is the 60-70 range, and I love how quiet it is. However, I don't play the most graphically intensive games, as I usually play Source games (Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead 2, etc), and the most intense games I've played regularly are Fortnite, and another unreal engine game called Tower Unite. As a result, I don't overclock my CPU.

With how hot AMD CPUs tend to be and that the cooler I have first came out in 2017 and seems to no longer be made, I am wondering if it can still get me by with a 5800X or if I should get a new cooler. The most I'd be willing to spend is around $50 and I'd love to have another quiet but effective cooler like the one I have. I even wonder if the newer ARCTIC Freezer A13 X will do just fine given the games I play.

I think I screwed up. I am trying to install a Peerless Assassin 120se on a Asus Prime Z790-P Wi-Fi motherboard. I’m trying to install the fans….but…I’ll let the pictures do the talking.

So I've mounted two car radiator fans under the top of it to be used as exhaust (only ones thin enough to fit between that and the cage for the daughterbaords, and I had to cut the housing a bit because they were too wide.) Each are rated for 12v, 80w, 6.67a. I want to stick a speed controller on them (so I can turn them down) and possibly power them off my 1000w PSU. I am looking for suggestions on how to best accomplish this.

Is liquid cooling a bad option for something like this since it will potentially be mobile? I've never done a build before so not sure about the reliability of the liquid cooling components especially when it comes to moving the computer around.

Hello all,

I have been building computers for a long time and with my most recent build I have run into an issue I cannot solve.

I have a Lian Li Lancool 205 case, an MSI MAG Core Liquid 240 with 2 Lian Li Uni Fan SL120 fans attached. It is cooling an AMD 5800X3D. I have an MSI B550 Tomahawk Max Wi-Fi motherboard and an Nvidia 3090 Founders Edition.

The radiator is mounted at the top of the case and the fans are mounted as intakes on the bottom of the radiator. There is a mesh filter on the top of the case. There are two 140 MM fans at the front of the case as intakes and one 120 MM fan at the back of the case as an exhaust. The front fans are the included Lian Li fans and the rear fan is another SL120, same as the radiator fans.

The CPU is running abnormally hot. Idle temperatures are 45-50 C and during gaming it's getting up to 85 C. Running a prime 95 stress test will see temps hit 95 C immediately and the CPU will thermal throttle. I ended the test right away as I was afraid I would damage the CPU if it continued running. I will see lower frame rates in multiplayer games than with my 5600X that was on air cooling. My room is not very hot and is usually around 70 F most of the time.

I have tried the following to fix the problem:

Removed pump/heat sink and checked the thermal paste. The paste had fairly even coverage and was not dry. I re-pasted with the same Corsair TM30 as before and made sure the pump/heatsink was tightened all the way down. I removed the fans and checked the radiator for dust and hair, it looked clean but I used my data vac anyway and blew it out. I checked the top and front filter for dust and hair and gave them a cleaning, both were still fairly clean. No change in temperatures.

I reset the BIOS to factory settings. The only things I had changed were turning on XMP for my RAM and turned on resizable BAR. I tried to make sure any automatic overclocking features were turned off. This is my first MSI motherboard so I am unsure if I did this step correctly.

I set the pump speed and all of the fans to maximum speed.

This lowered the temps of the other components in the system but made no difference in the CPU temps.

The motherboard and CPU socket are around 32 C, the GPU idles at 37 C and stays at 60-70 C during gaming. Nothing in the system is overclocked.

I am stumped at this point. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions I should try?

Hey, when the 4090 comes out, i am going to be upgrading to it and basicly restarting a new pc build. I am going to do hard line frosted corsair tube, and it will be my first hardline build although not my first pc build. I am also going to run the ryzen 7950x on the same loop. Should i use 3 rads? as my case will support it well. (Corsair 5000D airflow) What do yall think? the would all be 360mm.

Hi, so I recently bought this pc, "ASUS ROG Strix GA15DK" But because the cooling sucks, I want to replace the cpu cooler with a 120mm water cooler on the top. I looked at this 120mm cpu cooler, "Thermaltake TH120 ARGB"(btw all the items on here can be found on microcenter). But I'm not sure if the cooler can fit on the top of the case(if it can't please tell me where it can fit). I'm also planning on adding 1 or 2 case fans(intake) on the front/top(not where the water cooler goes) , and do I have to add a fan splitter cable, because I don't think the motherboard has enough connecters.

I'm currently using a Cooler Master ML240L, but the pump is loud enough to get picked up when I'm recording a podcast, even with a dynamic microphone. Moving the PC farther from my microphone just isn't an option at this point. I still want to have decent cooling performance for gaming, but I need to mitigate the noise when I'm recording.

My CPU is the Ryzen 5600X. I used to overclock, but since my rig has transitioned to podcasting more than gaming, I've scaled back considerably.

What do you all suggest? I'm currently looking at the Noctua NH-U12S and the be quiet Pure Rock 2.

Is it possible for MicroCenter to upgrade my cooling ?

I have an OMEN 30L and it just suddenly turned off. Looks like the bad boy overheated after a gaming session. I noticed the temps where gradually getting higher over a few days however I thought maybe it's nothing serious. Unfortunately I tried to change the fan speed through the bios but it didn't really allow it because the motherboard that comes with my OMEN 30L for whatever reason doesn't allow you to tweak CPU fan speeds

I was wondering If MicroCenter can aid me in putting in some liquid cooling into this bad boy. Of course I could do it myself but I never really tinkered with PC's so much and also have very little time these days to my disposal.

Today I bought a MSI C280 AIO from Microcenter as part of a modest upgrade to some parts for my PC. That being said I am still using my old MSI Z270-A motherboard. After installing the AIO the fans on the radiator are spinning, but my CPU is running at 95c. I did not have cooling issues with my old copper air cooler.

I installed everything but the RGB, as it seems the Z270 doesn't support the 5V RGB. Since that is the only cord connected to the pump I am wondering if this also powers the pump itself and not just the lighting.

I am thinking the solution is to get an ARGB hub and plug the pump into that. Is my assumption and solution heading me in the right direction? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
