Hello,

I purchased the G757 back in December 2025. Recently, it has started crashing after 1-2 hours of gaming. No warnings, turns off completely. In order to turn it back on, I have to flip the switch where the power cord plugs in. I originally had it plugged into a surge protector and moved it directly to an outlet. I noticed that change had some improvement as I was able to game a little longer, then last night it happened again. Mainly playing Arc Raiders and BF6. Can someone help? Is this the PSU not supplying enough power? How do I diagnose?

Hello Engineers,

Hi, I’m looking for an updated BIOS for my PowerSpec desktop. To be clear, I am not experiencing any issues at the moment.

Purchase Date: March 21

Model: G757

Motherboard Model: B850 Gaming Wifi6

Bios Firmware Version: AMI F5a GA2 (7/31/2025)

Board Revision: x.x (Per Speccy it shows x.x, the PCB does not have a revision number in the bottom left where the Mobo model is normally listed) (Does that mean it is OEM and not retail? I wonder)

I attempted to update using the retail Gigabyte BIOS (F10), but Q‑Flash reports “Invalid BIOS Image.” From what I understand, this system uses a PowerSpec‑specific OEM BIOS branch, so retail Gigabyte updates aren’t compatible with checksums during QFlash.

My Ask:

Is there a newer PowerSpec‑signed BIOS available for this model? Is it worth trying QFlash+ or ill-advised?

If possible, I’d also like to know whether the current F5a GA2 build includes fixes for the recent Gigabyte/AMI UEFI vulnerabilities (CVE‑2024‑13176, CVE‑2024‑2315, CVE‑2025‑33043, CVE‑2025‑2884, CVE‑2025‑7029/7028/7027/7026).

Thanks — just trying to make sure the system is fully up to date.

I updated my bios to the latest for the MSI Pro Z690-A WIFI motherboard. Everything seemed to be working but the fans were running at 100%. It was noticeably louder. I fixed this by changing the SYS-4 fan (which must be the fan hub) from DC to PWM in the BIOS.

Are there other BIOS settings that I should change?

Can someone post the PowerSpec custom BIOS file for this motherboard? Not sure if this is updated. Maybe I'm better off with the PowerSpec custom BIOS.

I recently purchased the Powerspec G528 from Microcenter and have been using it for around 3 weeks, but I've encountered an issue with its Bluetooth. After turning it off or after a while, the Bluetooth turns off by itself and disappears, making it unable to turn it back on. The only way to get it back is by restarting my PC, but the issue continues to occur. I've tried downloading the latest Bluetooth driver for my motherboard, making sure the Wifi and Bluetooth antennas were connected properly, disabled/re-enabled the driver, and uninstalling the driver, but the issue persists. I also turned off the power setting that allows the PC to turn the Bluetooth adapter off to save power, turned off faster startup in power settings, and unplugged my PC and subsequently held the power button for 30 seconds afterwards. The device status in Device Manager will say Windows stopped the device as it reported problems, or say no device is found. While my Bluetooth is having issues, the Wifi works fine. Any help with fixing this issue would be appreciated!

Greetings,

In this thread we'll be providing BIOS updates for our Intel Z690/790 boards that provide the Intel Default Power Settings as an option in the BIOS. I'll list by board, rather than model and provide instructions on determining the board.

What does these BIOS updates address?

Premature degradation issues with the Intel processors due to over voltage. Basically the processor can call and receive voltage high enough to degrade a processor momentarily when the system is put under heavy load. Use of the PC and the specifications can make a system more or less vulnerable to this. For gaming PC's, a higher end GPU is a risk factor. It will put a higher demand on the processor momentarily when you for instance load into a game, and can cause this dangerous spike. Degradation occurs over the life of any semiconductor, but this is happening in a much, much shorter time than expected due to the issue. The 0x129 microcode puts a hard cap on the VCORE voltage.

Warranty Extensions:

Our warranty will be extended to 5 years on all models with an affected processor for the CPU only. The warranty on other components remains 1 year from the date of purchase.

How do I check what board I have?

Generally the model is silkscreened on the board and visible through the panel.

In search type: msinfo32. Open System Information. The Baseboard Product is the model of the board.

Please ask us directly if you're not sure. We can determine this from the serial. There are a few models where the board changed mid production, generally from a Z690 to a Z790 board.

BIOS:

MSI:

Flash Instructions:

Press 'Del' on startup to enter the BIOS.

Press Ctrl+Alt+T and confirm to enter Advanced Flash Mode.

Select the BIOS file and confirm the flash.

Once the flash completes, re-enter the BIOS and enable XMP.

Note: You can always flash the manufacturer BIOS with our systems. However we just set everything up as a default so it's little simpler. We'll also have the manufacturer address any bugs we find as well as fix minor issues like USB port mapping.

MSI Pro Z690-A WIFI DDR4

11/1 - 0x12B microcode.

E7D25IZ1.MF

Hi all,

recently picked up a G527 (Ryzen 7500x3d, MSI B850, powercolor 9060XT) to replace my nearly 10 years old intel build. I was excited to get back into some games but I've run into increasingly frequent crashes black screen/blue screen/reboot into windows (which show as event ID 41 in W11 Event Viewer). This primarily occurs under load (Cyberpunk/Helldivers/Heaven). I do see an occasional crash during low utilization just browsing the web and listening to music, however.

One thing that stands out is that I am seeing pretty high GPU temps (85c core / 110c+ hotspot) under load with the default fan settings:

I purchased my system last August. Today, my direct connection to house internet (1.2GB ethernet) stopped working. The cable is fine as it works with other PCs and my laptop. No flashing green light comes on the back panel of the PC now when the ethernet cable is plugged in. Is it hosed or is there some way to diagnose an ethernet port? Is there a number I can call (Parkville MD)?

EDIT: I went into Device Manager and removed the controller, rebooted, and Windows reinstalled the driver which returned ethernet function. Noe I'm on the 2A05 BIOS. Is there a further update? Is there a chipset update I should consider? I haven't updated anything except the BIOS, Windows and NVIDIA drivers so perhaps a chipset update is in order?

Hello,

I just got off the phone with tech support (who was very friendly and helpful) - we went through updating drivers for the ethernet adapter and the motherboard LAN adapter(s), with no joy. In short, I bought four B686 Powerspec units in the middle of last year, and all four of them have non-functioning ethernet adapters. In device manager, the adapter is show as being installed but not able to start. After discussing with the tech support rep, we agree it must be a hardware issue after exhausting driver updates / reinstallations and clearing various network settings, but I'm serendipitously out of warranty by a few days.

Anyone else have this issue, or have any suggestions? I get a yellow blinking light on the LAN card, and I've tried multiple new CAT5 cables to test the router (of which other devices are running off of successfully). Seems weird for it to be truly a hardware issue vs some kind of software glitch. It's not a huge deal as the wireless cards work great, we're just trying to reduce latency in the office and I don't want to buy PCI LAN adapters unnecessarily.

Thoughts?

Hello,
is there a manual to see how the fans are set up? Are they daisy chained using fewer header/sensor than number of fans? This system has 2 front fans, 1 back fan, and 2 top fans. A total of 5 fans.

When I go into gigabyte bios smart fans settings, there are these 6 entries:
cpu _fan
cpu_opt
sys_fan1
sys_fan2
sys_fan3
fan4_pump

But out of these 6 entries, only 3 actually have actual rpm. The cpu_opt, sys_fan1 and sys_fan2 have 0 rpm.

So I am assuming the cpu_fan is for the top 2 radiator fans?
The fan4_pump is aio pump which should be running 100% all the time.
That leaves sys_fan3 for the 2 front fans AND the back fan? Are these 3 fans daisy chained and connect to 1 header?

Is that how the fans are set up and connected on this g730 system? Are they daisy chained, or hub etc?

Can someone please help clear this up. Thank you

Is there a way to safely reset the BIOS to default to clear any changes I've made?

Hi Mike,

I have been researching issues regarding the upcoming transition to UEFICA2023.
I have the G522. The appropriate registry key lists UEFICA2023 as "Not Started".
The G522 has an ASROCK MB with UEFI vs 3.06. From my research it appears that I need to upgrade to vs 4.10 for compatibility with UEFICA2023.
Although Microsoft is supposed to include the conversion to UEFICA2023 with a monthly windows update, my research suggests that the (passive) windows update method may not be as reliable as doing a manual upgrade.

I was already on the phone with Microcenter tech support and found out that they have not made provisions for dealing with this issue (unlike Dell and HP, etc). So it appears that I will need to upgrade the UEFI vs on my own. Knowing there is always the possibility of bricking the MB during an update, I am trying to make sure I do all the possible advised steps to have a smooth transition. One issue mentioned is that prior to the update, I should set all the UEFI settings back to default. Note that I have not made any changes to the UEFI setting since I got the G522.

I am curious to know if any changes to UEFI settings were made by your team during assembly and configuration of the G522. Additionally if you have any suggestions please let me know.

Thanks in advance,

MSI Center is installed on my G911 purchased 8/25 but I don't use it for anything. I'm trying to clean my system of anything that's not necessary for my gaming (mostly DCS). I'm going to use the bios for fan controls I think, and other tools for diagnostics and temp monitoring. My understanding is that there are some updates that come through MSI but I thought Microsoft provided drivers and BIOS firmware updates are done by hand (what IS the latest for the G911?). Is MSI Center really needed???

Hi Mike,
I've had my G522 for over a year and have been very happy with it.

Recently I purchased a new Wifi 7 based router. After hooking it up I noticed that the Wifi connection from my G522 was only using WPA2 rather than the newer WPA3 security. This prompted me to check further.
The G522 has an intel Dual Band wireless ac 3168 card. It is limited to Wifi 5 technology. Additionally it is listed as being EOL.
I have a couple of concerns.
1) Future compatibility with Windows updates since no new drivers will be created for the card.
2) Security concerns for the above and also for the lower security of WPA2 vs WPA3, and other security benefits of the newer Wifi 7 standard.

I should mention that my P.C. connection to the router is via Ethernet cable. However I do use wifi from the P.C. to connect to my printer (The wifi print driver for my Canon printer is better than the buggy Ethernet based driver for the printer).

So the question is should I bother installing a new Wifi card that is Wifi 7 capable?
If so do you have a suggestion as to which one to choose?

Am I being over cautious with these concerns? Knowing that installing new hardware always risks being a time waster and introducing new problems,
would you advise replacing the Wifi card as discussed above, or simply "leaving well enough alone"?
I would really appreciate your opinion on this.
Thanks,
