Should I be creating my own pc, or buying a prebuilt? I have never owned a pc before, only a laptop. My budget is around 2000, but I can go over.

How much of my budget should go to my monitor and peripherals?

And what peripherals are good?

I currently use a ideapad pro 5 16akp10 Model number: 83JN000XUS, but im looking for an upgrade and to stop burning my fingertips on hot days.

I play games like neverness to everness, warframe, and honkai star rail, if that helps.

Alright. I’ve been to microcenter 5 times now. I bought a g527 gaming computer with a b850m, ryzen 5 7500x3d, 32 gb of ram. I replaced the power supply to a 750w, gpu to an 5070 and just recently replaced the cooler. My computer will not stop stuttering and restarting on me. I’ve had this computer for about 5 to 6 months. There’s no way I should be running into issues like this. I recently just reset my computer to fix a potential software or maybe bad drivers and still hasn’t fixed the issue. Both times I got my pc diagnosed they said it “passed” all their “tests” whatever that means. I modified my whole setup to try to remove any external issues. Thought maybe it was the WiFi cable so I switched it out.. nothing. One monitor.. nothing. No USB’s plugged in except for my controller.. nothing. I need someone to help me figure out this issue. I loved the computer while it was working. Once I installed the latest chipset driver everything went off the rails.

So I’m going to be going to the Chicago location in a couple of months and hopefully get my first pc built by you guys. Only thing is I’ve only ever had consoles and know nothing about pc’s. Now I know how I want it to look, like type of case and all that but will the staff be able to walk me through everything and help me pick out the parts I need? Thanks!

PC Wont Get POST

I have an older custom built PC the following are the parts:

CPU: Ryzen 5 3700

RAM: 32GB DDR$

GPU: EVGA Nvidia 3060

I turned the PC on yesterday and while it booted fine, the screen was like half displayed and I couldn't get anything to work, I turn the PC off, and upon booting it is now frozen at the GIgabyte Logo and won't boot into Windows. I've removed the boot drive and still the same, I removed all but one sticl of ram and same things. I am afraid that it could be the board but the last thing I haven't done is remove the CMOS battery. Anyone have any other suggestions?

PowerSpec G757

I got the G757 Powerspec from Microcenter less then a week ago. Right away im noticing some lagging and stalling when going into system settings and trying to get a tab to drop down. Also having issue with the live wallpaper I have not displaying or it does but the normal one will change it and out here and there and my WiFi 6 wont even see the 6ghz band from my ISP router when other devices pick it right up as well as wifi speeds are I believe being limited. It shows the bios for the Gigabyte B850 gaming wifi6 as f7 g12 which is custom to the powerspecs but even in the Gigabyte control center it says it should be at f9 and there's even a f10 out. I have a 9800x3d chip which without the latest bios can cause the gpu to burn out. Looking for help getting the correct powerspec firmware update for this as Gigabyte said I had to get it from microcenter and the one I got my pc from which is the closest is 2 hours and 45 minutes away. Any help would be appreciated. If not I either gonna return the whole thing and get a pc somewhere else or replace the mobo to something way better and just go with the bios from that mobo.

Change RGB fan on PowerSpec G728

How can I change the RGB of the fans of my PowerSpec G728 computer? I've tried installing Gigabyte Control Center but only my RAM shows up and not the fans. I've also tried installing and uninstalling (one by one) other RGB software like L Connect 3, RGB Fusion, Signal RGB, Armoury Crate, etc.

Purchased this prebuilt yesterday from Micro Center in Overland Park, KS. Everything has been going smoothly thus far except for two things:

Firstly, I cannot figure out how to control the RGB on the fans and cooler beyond using the buttons on the case that control the center/outside of the fans. I found nothing for the RAM/Cooler. I found online where some people had Armoury Crate preinstalled but since my MOBO is an MSI it has MSI Center. In that, there is "Mystic LIght" that i would have thought would be what got me to the RGB controls but it only has controls for the MOBO itself, which incidentally doesn't have RGB, lol. I'm just hoping someone out there can help me find a way to control the RGB on the Cooler, Fans and RAM. I also tried Signal RGB but it didn't detect anything either.

Lastly, I've noticed a somewhat loud "humming" that i think is one of the fans or the cooler. It's hard to tell. When i go in the hardware monitoring tab for MSI Center, it does show the cooler's fan running at nearly 4000 rpm's. I saw online some people complaining in the reviews for the machine about their cooler fans being loud because of air or something in the lines and thought i might have the same issue. A couple reported it being worse and worse the longer they had the computer for the first week since purchase. Thanks for any help anyone can offer.

PowerSpec G457 restarts while Gaming

I want to replace my older HP laptop and Samsung tablet. My laptop doesn't hold a charge and must be plugged in to be used for more than 30 minutes. Yes, I recently had the battery replaced. The laptop is several years old so I am thinking I'd replace with a new laptop. My old laptop has the 360 degree hinge, but I never use it that way. I've seen the 2 in 1 s advertised and I was wondering if it is worth the higher price tag. I don't want a tablet that has to be attached to the whole key board and i NEVER use the touch pad. Hate it, have for decades, and I don't use it. I wanted to make an appointment to talk to someone at Micro Center about pros and cons but you can't make an appointment. Any feedback or recommendations. I really don't have the money for the expensive 2 in 1s. I've read the new snapdragon might be right for me and my use.

G484 Fan Issue

I bought a G484 today which has an ASRock Z790-C and the case fans keep winding up, stopping, then the process repeats. This happens every few seconds. I ran a fan test in the ASRock A-Tuning software and it seems like the fan just doesn't work between 30% and 70%. First thing I did was update the bios since it has a 14th Gen Intel and I noticed this after that so I'm assuming some setting was defaulted and is now causing issues.

Anything I can do to resolve this?

How to turn off RGB on Powerspec G758

I have been trying to turn off the rgb on the case fans and the watercooler. All that is happening is cycling the modes and colors. I have been trying to use mystic light as well but that has not been doing anything. Anytime i click 'M' on the left or right it just cycles the modes and the "C" only cycles the colors. Clicking them both at the same time does nothing as well.

Any other suggestions?

Powerspec G729 USB port not working properly

Hello,

Just got a G729 and one of the front two USB 3.0 ports does not work properly. Any device I connect is not recognized (mouse/keyboard/mic/xbox adapter). The only thing that does recognize and work properly is a USB drive. I am unsure why the USB drive works fine while all other devices are not working.

PowerSpec G913 – Loud Fan Noise

I recently purchased a PowerSpec G913 system from MicroCenter, and I’ve noticed that the fans are quite loud. They keep ramping up and down even when I’m just browsing the web or downloading updates.Do you have any suggestions for how to make the fans run more quietly? While it's not as big a deal when the lights are on, aside from extraneous power draw to run the RGB, I can't put my computer to sleep because the RGB stays on. It's a much dimmer light, yes, but I really shouldn't be able to navigate my room via light brighter than my phone at maximum dimness with a dark image on its screen allows. It makes actually sleeping quite hard.

Did some hunting online;

I've gone into the UEFI>Advanced>Advanced-Tab>Chipset Configuration>RGB-To-Disabled, but there's still RGB active. Set computer to turn off the fast-boot and shut-down and restarted a few times, no dice. Still active RGB. Set it to Deep Sleep in S5 (not entirely sure what it meant, but the reddit post I was following said that turned off their RGB), still no change. All the RGB is still functional as far as I can tell. Unless it literally turned off a single set of RGB that's buried in the stack of it somewhere. Heck, the "RGB color picker" thing under the Advanced UEFI shows "color: Disabled" as the option picked!

I'm pretty sure I'm missing something, but I don't know anywhere near enough about computer parts and their various manufacturers and such to know what it is.

Please help.

I recently purchased a new Powerspec G725 from the Tustin, CA location. Currently, after installing steam and purchasing a game an issue occurred.

About 5 minutes in the game will freeze and close. I installed and updated my graphics driver along with an anti-virus, To no luck.

Hello,

I have a Powerspec G447 which has been great. Recently, a Windows update resulted in a system crash and I got a "previous overclock settings" failed error. When I loaded the default BIOS settings, I noticed it defaulted my RAM to 4800mhz although the RAM is listed at 6000mhz and the system was previously configured for 6000mhz. I imagien this was the "overclock" the system noted had failed. I then updated the memory profile in the BIOS to the correct RAM settings, and have not had the issue since, but I was wondering if there was any other overclocking the manufacturer might have done (CPU etc) in case I need to make any further updates to the BIOS. The performance seems fine but I just want to make sure that I have the same settings in place as when I purchased the PC so I am not missing out on any of my previous performance. Aside from the RAM speed, does Powerspec generally use default BIOS settings?

I'm looking for a gaming laptop primarily used for gaming (call of duty, god of war, horizon zero dawn, minecraft, stardew valley, etc) and work (microsoft office, many tabs open).

I want a laptop with at least 32GB of RAM, 1TB SSD (if the storage can be expanded, 512GB is fine), and under $1,500.00. I'm willing to push my budget to $1,700.00.

There's so many options and mixed reviews; It's overwhelming! So I'd like some nice recommendations.

Does anyone know causes of crashing on Powerspec with 9070 xt?

My PC consistently crashes during games like Battlefield 2042 and others. I brought it in for warranty service, but they claimed there were no issues. When I brought it home it still crashes all the time. I have tried using DDU and reinstalling the drivers. I have called remote tech support twice and they werent able to help. All my drivers are up to date. I have tried reducing the clock speed which seemed to help a little but it still crashed pretty often. Reducing the voltage seemed to make it worse. I tried to use a better PSU because it only comes with a 750W, but I saw no improvement with a 1000W platinum PSU.I tried changing a number of bios settings including setting the PCIE to Gen 4 to no avail.
I also noticed a large difference in the GPU temp and GPU hotspot temp. With the GPU temp sitting at around 53°C and the hotspot at 95°C around the time of the crashes.

Hello.

I recently purchased a PowerSpec prebuilt, G4447.

I've noticed when I put the computer to sleep, and wake it up, it starts to boot up but fails, black screen, and I get an error regarding failing during overclocking/OC.

Is there any steps I can take to troubleshoot this? The PC seems fine when gaming, it's only when I have the system sleeping for more than a few hours where this SEEMS to occur.

Tablet outer skin decaying, what can I do?

Hello, I have been a MicroCenter shopper since 2005(ish). Years ago I bought a WinBook WP100 tablet. I've used it on and off, mostly for testing developed software.

Currently, I find that the tablet's outer black skin, made of a rubber/plastic compound, has begun to decay and has become sticky. I've seen this in other items. The material turns into this gooey mess.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to the skin? Some have mentioned to wrap it (just the skin) with contact paper; however, I am not sure if this is the solution. Any recommendations are welcomed! Thank you! Salvador

I did not buy the MicroCenter service plan
Minis Forum is telling me to handle warranty claims through the vendor

Do I need to push back on this? Does MicroCenter have any role in a return/refund/repair?

(Yeah, yeah, I know…. I rolled the dice on this thing!)
