My wifes laptop died and so did mine. I found two at Microcenter that were perfect. Two different manufactures (Lenovo and MSI) and obviously two different modles. Both were labled as 1 per household. Now I understand when there is limited quantity, special pricing and so on that you have to limit one per household.

I was told that I could only buy one or the other. Apprenlty this applys to everything in their store with the disclaimer of 1 per household. You can only buy one or the other. Note that this only came up after I declined their extended warrenty. May have nothing to do with it but just throwing that out there.

I don't want to spend 3k on two laptops. But I have to. They are for our businesses. With that said, I wont shop here anymore.

Store Location Request: Central Illinois Tech Hub (Champaign-Urbana / Bloomington / Peoria)

I am writing to formally request that the corporate development and real estate teams evaluate the Central Illinois region—specifically looking at the Champaign-Urbana, Bloomington-Normal, or Peoria markets—for a future Micro Center location.
Downstate Illinois represents a massive, completely unserved pocket of tech-focused consumers who currently have zero physical access to a dedicated computer and electronics retailer. Together, these three neighboring metro areas form a dense "Tech Triangle" that perfectly fits Micro Center’s target demographics and operational model.
1. Massive Elite Tech & Student Demographics
Central Illinois holds a dense concentration of students, elite engineers, and tech professionals:

The Premier University Base: The region is anchored by the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), a world-renowned powerhouse for computer science, engineering, and supercomputing research. Combined with Illinois State University (ISU) and Bradley University, the region houses over 80,000 college students. This creates a massive, rotating, built-in audience for custom PC building, gaming hardware, and engineering workstations.
Corporate & Tech Employment: The tech infrastructure here is rapidly expanding. UIUC's Research Park hosts tech hubs for global corporations, while Bloomington-Normal features EV manufacturer Rivian and the global headquarters of State Farm. Peoria anchors major medical technology sectors (headlined by OSF Healthcare).
Population Reach: A location anywhere within this central corridor draws from a combined immediate metro population of over 600,000 residents, expanding to a broader regional draw of over 1.2 million people across the downstate Illinois region.

2. Zero Market Cannibalization (The 100+ Mile Buffer)
A store in Central Illinois would capture entirely new brick-and-mortar revenue without cannibalizing your existing Chicago-area footprint:

The Distance Barrier: Currently, tech enthusiasts and students in the Champaign-Urbana area must drive 130+ miles north to reach either the Westmont Micro Center or the Chicago Micro Center.
The Time Barrier: A 4-to-5-hour round-trip drive makes it impossible for customers to drop in for quick component upgrades, 3D printing filament refills, or immediate repair parts. This forces the entire southern two-thirds of the state to buy from online competitors.

3. Prime, Ready-to-Move-In Commercial Real Estate
The central logistics corridors of Illinois offer highly accessible big-box retail space perfectly tailored to Micro Center’s typical store footprint (30,000 to 60,000 sq. ft.):

Champaign-Urbana Options: The high-traffic commercial corridor along North Prospect Avenue or properties near Market Place Mall offer excellent high-visibility retail strip vacancies with massive parking infrastructure.
Bloomington-Peoria Options: High-traffic retail strips like The Shoppes at College Hills (Bloomington) or large-format vacancies near the Westlake Shopping Center (Peoria) offer immediate availability.
Logistics Hub: Positioned at the intersection of major interstates (I-57, I-74, I-55, and I-39), a central hub here makes corporate distribution and freight transit from your major distribution hubs exceptionally efficient.

Central Illinois has the population, an elite university tech base, massive student enrollment, and the real estate capacity to support a thriving store. We would love to welcome Micro Center downstate!
Thank you for your time and for considering our region.

Could we please get a location added in Jacksonville, FL? I know there's one opening in Miami sometime this year but that is simply too far of a drive. The Jacksonville, FL location would essentially put a spot in between the Atlanta area locations and the Miami locations (for people who live near the middle of the two cities). Also, Jacksonville is very populous and has a ton of businesses that would benefit from a store like this.

In terms of real estate, there are many great options on the South side/Southeast side of town. There's absolutely no way that a store in the area wouldn't turn a huge profit.

I can either use it for the entire purchase with 5% cashback or I can use it for special financing. If I read the terms correctly it says there is an option of 24 month financing with 0% interest. Yet it says this is available on select purchases so does the G913 qualify for either the 5% cashback or the 24 month 0% financing for a person who is just signing up for the credit card?

MICROCENTER… Oh microcenter. The only thing you’re good for is keeping stuff on the shelves. That’s it. The employees you hire and the training you provide is LAUGHABLE to all the other corporations. The knowledge you claim your employees to have is very underwhelming at best. You’re like a narcissistic girlfriend in where you think you know everything. Your advice makes people so frustrated like myself to the point I can’t wait for your downfall. (As a matter of fact I pray on it). Your business model is point towards age 60+ adults who know nothing about computers and are living off of retirement and social security. The LACKLUSTER EFFORT you put into figuring out issues should get you fined for not being a FREE service. I am now a PRO compared to your bottom of the barrel “Technichians” for doing my own research and testing on a PREBUILT that I bought from you. Your ego filled stores and hungry to get a commission employees provide NO value to the everyday customer. If you WANT to utilize microcenter then get what you came for and GO. Do not let them put their commission sticker on the product YOUR paying for. They don’t deserve it. I am so done with microcenter and I truly hope people find the light on what a scummy business this place is. Scummiest of the scums. I sure hope my 2300$ product works is what no one should ever have to say. I will be the first in line to watch this company fall…. Just like Kmart.

There aren’t many places in the state where people can buy PC parts and electronics in person, so many customers have to order online or travel out of state. It also has a growing community of students, gamers, and tech enthusiasts who would benefit from having a Micro Center nearby.

I'm interested in buying a product using a Micro Center Insider Credit Card with a 12 month financing option.
I have not yet applied for the card because when I'm in MY CART, there is no financing option available — the only option is for the 5% price discount if I go and get the card. Yet the 12 month financing option does appear next to the product elsewhere on the site.
1. How do I select a 12 month financing option with the card as my payment option? My concern is that for some reason the product I want is not legible for 12 month financing (although it is seen on other areas of the site, just not in my cart.
2. OR Do I need to just apply/get accepted for the card and then go to the Brooklyn location and skip doing anything online related to buying???
My main concern is that if the product I want DOESN'T do 12 month financing, then I DO NOT want to have to go through the process to get the card.

Peoria IL has an open storefront where their Best Buy used to be that would be a great opportunity. It is between St. Louis and Chicago so it wouldn’t be particularly difficult for distribution networks and the central location would be attractive to a lot of shoppers that don’t want to travel 3 hours or more for a Micro Center. Galesburg, Springfield, Bloomington-Normal, Champaign-Urbana are all within a reasonable distance that I could see shoppers being willing to travel for.

the city recently established a TIF and is actively seeking developers.

I mean it's long overdue opening a store in Florida but in Miami at the moment is a long haul from Tampa. It's disappointing that the only option on the West Coast of Florida is a Bestbuy and their options are slim and limited. The only options outside of Bestbuy is Amazon or Mom and Pops shops.

Has anyone had any luck getting a warranty replacement without taking the item into the store?

I contacted Microcenter via live chat and was told that I could not get warranty support without bringing the item into the store. (I offered to ship the item in for evaluation, but was told that was not an option.)

I live 90 minutes away from the closest store and a three hour round trip would be extremely inconvenient.

The item in question is a 2TB Inland SSD which is still under warranty and appears to be experiencing a controller failure.

I see now on the site that they switched it with the Corsair Vengeance RGB 32GB RAM. Would I be able to swap it out, given I have the receipt for proof?

I've purchased a few macbooks in-person and web pickup from MicroCenter for use in a business (and want to continue doing so). Do you participate in Apple Business Manager enrollment as a reseller? We'd need to exchange Organization IDs and Reseller IDs so that our purchases appear in Apple Business Manager, where we can enroll them into our device management software.
