Just curious as to why there is no discount for actively serving military personnel, veterans, and first responders; people who sacrifice and have sacrificed so much for this nation and its people, But there is a discount for a group of people that are known to have a great disregard for the lives and safety of the people they have sworn to protect. Just wanting to know why the bias. thank you in advance.

As far as I am aware, the only discount we offer other than our normal deals available to everyone is with the Micro Center Credit Card. We used to have a First Responder discount during the Covid pandemic which covered active military, police, medical staff and other such individuals. Many customers often mistook it for a "Law Enforcement" or a "Military" discount and that is what they posted online. Hopefully that helps to clear up a misunderstanding.

How about no one gets needless discounts? What's next new free memberships to them? What makes them better than literally everyone else?
Give discounts to the poor and people with bridge cards who actually need it, or give discounts to charities and educational institutions that help them. Cops make a ton of money already, and active military are actively paid. I can see maybe a discount for poor vets, but they'd already be covered under the poor anyway.
Thanks for the laughs though, this has been a fun thread. I'm amused but not surprised that this has gotten this heated. Where the hell is the moderation anyway? Or are they watching and actively going "I'm not touching this, not my problem?"

Oh, sorry I didn't mean to misrepresent myself. I personally don't care and welcome the discussion. I'm a Libertarian so I'm very adamant about free speech and the right to express one's opinion.
However this is a business and most businesses seem to hate anything coming close to conflict or flame wars on their forums. Makes it seem less professional and lord forbid anyone gets offended or their feelings hurt. I'm not an employee so I don't care, and I'm pretty sure they only give that janny power out to employees anyway.

Our First Responder discount was a temporary policy that we held for the last two years to support those working closest to the pandemic. As with other major retailers, we are resuming a sense of normalcy and we hope to find new ways of supporting our local communities.
The Law Enforcement discount is a continuation of a policy Micro Center has had for some time prior to the first responder discount. I would like to thank you for the feedback in regards to this and will forward this information to the proper group for this.
