At CES 2024, one sneak peek of an upcoming product that really caught my eye was the Omen Transcend 32 OLED Gaming Monitor by HP. This is a 31.5-inch display that combines 4K UHD resolution with Quantum Dot OLED technology and a fast 240Hz refresh rate, crucial for competitive gamers looking for blur-free motion. HP is also showing off a new 14-inch Omen Transcend gaming laptop, which is claims is the world's lightest 14-inch gaming laptop.
Moving beyond just a gaming audience, the display offers 99 percent Display P3, 97.5 percent Adobe RGB, and 100 percent sRGB color coverage. This extensive color gamut ensures that the Transcend 32 is also great for video editors and content creators.
The screen gets up to 1,000 nits brightness in HDR mode, so it's plenty bright. It can also take advantage of features like AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, VESA AdaptiveSync, and Dolby Vision HDR, enhancing the experience by reducing screen tearing and improving overall picture quality.
This is a slim, tightly designed monitor, with a sleek 3-sided micro-edge screen, which means there's a bit of a bezel along the bottom, but it's virtually bezel free on the top and sides. Connectivity, found via the back panel, includes DisplayPort 2.1, HDMI 2.1, and multiple USB ports, including a USB-C with 140W power delivery.
The ergonomic stand of the Omen Transcend 32 supports height adjustment, tilt, and pivot, allowing gamers and creators to find the most comfortable viewing angle for extended sessions. The monitor also features built-in speakers, a feature some other monitors leave out.
We don't have a price for the Omen Transcend 32 yet, but it's expected later in 2024, possibly around the summer, so stay tuned for updates.
