You may have noticed that with recent updates to Windows 11 you now have a new icon on your taskbar for Microsoft’s AI Copilot. This new icon may appear next to your Start button, or at the bottom right corner of your screen. If you no longer wish to see this button, we will walk you through the very quick steps to turn that off.
Here is how to hide this from your taskbar:
First, right-click anywhere in the open space in your taskbar, usually found at the bottom of the screen, and click on the Taskbar settings option.
Here under taskbar items which you may need to expand by clicking on it, you can click the slider next to Copilot in Windows and turn this to Off.
The icon will disappear from your taskbar and you may simply click the slider back to On at any time to turn this back on.
If your Copilot was at the bottom right corner of your screen like in our example, you may notice that the Copilot button disabled a Windows feature to show your desktop quickly by clicking the bottom right corner of your taskbar.
To turn this back on, click on Taskbar behaviors.
Here, click in the check box next to “Select the far corner of the taskbar to show the desktop” and this will restore that functionality to your PC.
