If you’ve ever been prompted for Windows updates at an inconvenient time, you can adjust this directly in Windows settings to prevent your PC from restarting when you’re normally using your PC. This can easily be adjusted through the active hours feature and today we will show you how to modify this setting for your Windows 11 PC.
Here is how to do this:
First, right-click on the Start button, typically found at the bottom of the screen on your taskbar, from the list of options that appears, click on Settings.
Click on Windows Update from the list of Settings.
From this Windows Update screen, click on Advanced options.
Here we will see the option for Active hours. By default, this will be set to automatically assigned active hours for when the computer is used the most normally. If these in place settings don’t seem to be the best, you can click on the option here and select the drop down box next to “adjust active hours” and click on Manually.
Here you can adjust the start and end time for the computer to up to an 18 hour time frame.
Use the options presented here to select new times, and click the Check mark to confirm the new times once entered in here.
These settings automatically go into place and may be adjusted at any time.
