For processors, motherboards, video cards, computer memory, internal/external hard drives and SSDs, network attached storage (NAS), CD/DVD/Blu-ray drives, drive enclosures, expansion cards, air and water cooling parts, and desktop computer cases and power supplies.
- Replacement protection plan: starts at the date of purchase of the product and extends upto 2 or 3 years depending on plan purchased. Limited to computer parts with a purchase price under $500. If the part has a hardware failure (not Accidental Damage related) during the plan timeframe, then the customer can bring the product to the store for evaluation by our Service department (plan does not cover shipping the computer part to the store for evaluation). If Service deems it unrepairable, then the customer will receive a Micro Center gift card for the original purchase price of the covered product (not including sales tax nor the price of the Replacement Plan). The gift card buys out the plan and can be used towards the purchase of any item in-store (does not have to be the same item that the plan covered).
- BYO protection plan (replacement plan): starts at the date of purchase of the product and extends upto 2 or 3 years depending on plan purchased. Can be used to cover individual computer parts with a purchase price over $500. Can also be used as an aggregate replacement plan to cover 2 or more computer parts. If the part has a hardware failure (not Accidental Damage related) during the plan timeframe, then the customer can bring the product to the store for evaluation by our Service department (plan does not cover shipping the computer part to the store for evaluation). If Service deems it unrepairable, then the customer will receive a Micro Center gift card for the original purchase price of the covered product (not including sales tax nor the price of the Replacement Plan).
