Many of us spend countless hours in front of screens, whether for work, entertainment, or staying connected. While this screen time is often necessary, it can also strain our eyes whether we realize it or not. Windows can help address this issue with its Night Light feature, which is designed to reduce eye strain by minimizing blue light emissions from your screen.
By enabling Night Light in Windows 11, you can create a more comfortable viewing experience during nighttime hours, helping to promote better sleep and reduce eye fatigue. In this guide, we'll take you through how to enable Night Light and why it can be a game-changer for your nightly routine.
Here is how to do this:
First, right-click on the Start button, typically found at the bottom of the screen on your taskbar, from the list of options that appears, click on Settings.
From the list of options on the left, click on System.
Next, click on Display.
Here you will see an option for Night light, and which is listed as just a general on/off option that can be toggled here, or you may click on it to see a variety of additional options.
Upon clicking on the Night light option here, the first option listed here is turn once again turn on Night Light by selecting Turn on now.

The last setting here is to set a schedule for this feature of Windows. Click on the slider next to “Schedule night light” and turn it on, it will give options to automatically turn this on for Sunset to Sunrise times for your area on the specific day (if location servcies are enabled on your computer), or you may click on Set hours to input time options manually here. You can set those times using the drop down menus next to “Turn on” and “Turn off” listed here.
