Open Box Details

I recently purchased an open box processor that only had complete on the sticker.  I did not have the opportunity to inspect the processor at the counter and the sales associate ensured it should be fine.  Unfortunately, after opening the box at home, there are a few severely bent pins. Normally I would bend these back in place but they are bent all the way to the backing.  Before I attempt anything and possibly damage the processor any further, I would like to know if is it possible to exchange open box purchases?
