I purchased my Dell Inspiron from you a few years ago. I just recently bought a Dell monitor. I am trying to do different things on the monitor and laptop at the same time but can only do 1 thing on one or the other or have the monitor mirror the laptop. Do I need a special HDMI cord to do this?

Hello!
Make sure it is set up in Windows:
Right click on an empty part of your desktop and select Display Settings.
Under Multiple displays. Select Extend these displays from the dropdown menu.
