3070 Ti Review and Benchmark
A week ago, the 3080 Ti was released, adding another product into the 3000 series lineup. We are now looking at the second part of this release, the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti, which will slot between the GeForce RTX 3070 and GeForce RTX 3080 and should be aimed at a mid to high-end graphics card targeted at 4K 60FPS or 1440p 144FPS gaming. Let’s take a look at some benchmarks to see how well this card performed!

Recommendation and Test Bench
We will be using the same test bench that we used in the 3080 Ti Review and Benchmark.
For our testbench, we’re using an open-air system with the following specs
- Intel 11700k
- ASUS P-Prime Z590
- G.Skill Trident Z 32GB Ram
- ASUS NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti TUF OC
- Inland Premium 1TB SSD
- Lian Li Galahad 240mm
We have an article if you are interested in another build that features the 3070 Ti as well. This build is a Micro-ATX Build that features the same ASUS NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti TUF OC that we used for our benchmark.

Benchmarks
No changes were made to the 3070 Ti, as we want to provide the most out-of-the-box performance for these benchmarks. All games were set to their highest graphical settings. However, we did disable motion blur wherever possible. MSI Afterburner was used as our performance monitoring tool when going through in-game benchmarks. DLSS was not used for any games.
Let’s start with one of my favorite games, Hitman 2! We can see we are reaching a CPU Bottleneck in both 1080p and 1440p, getting to about 130FPS, which is similar to our 3080 Ti Review and Benchmark. The CPU Bottleneck releases at 4K gaming, but it still maintains above 60FPS for those 4K 60Hz monitors.
Frametimes are as follow, 1080p; 7.45ms | 1440p; 7.64ms | 4K; 13.19ms
The 3070 Ti can handle one of our less demanding games, Civilization VI, even at 4K. Pushing almost 190FPS in 4K, which in our opinion, is more than you will ever need in a turn-based game like Civilization VI. We are seeing a consistent 1% low across all resolutions, but this can be attributed to the 60FPS cap in menus as the benchmark ends.
Frametimes are as follow, 1080p; 5.31ms | 1440p; 5.31ms | 4K; 5.28ms
Our most demanding game when set at max settings, Borderland 3, put the 3070 Ti to the test. While not the greatest performance we’ve ever seen, it still held up pretty well to one of the toughest benchmarks we have. It’s definitely more than playable at all resolutions!
Frametimes are as follow, 1080p; 8.23ms | 1440p; 11.15ms | 4K; 19.65ms
Pretty high FPS counts for F1 2020. The 3070 Ti performed wonderfully, hitting all significant points of monitors when it comes to average framerate, even the 4K 60FPS section, with the 1% low being above 60FPS. 1% lows on 1440p and 1080p were lower than I expected, but they are in line with how the 3080 Ti benched as well.
Frametimes are as follow, 1080p; 4.47ms | 1440p; 5.03ms | 4K; 7.27ms
Horizon Zero Dawn: the other demanding game in our benchmarking gauntlet. The 3070 Ti definitely put in work here. Similar to our Borderlands 3 benchmark, the 3070 Ti isn’t perfect, but it is more than playable at max settings. We may be some frames shy for 1080/1440p 144Hz monitors, but we are set up for 4K 60Hz for sure.
Frametimes are as follow, 1080p; 7.49ms | 1440p; 8.80ms | 4K; 11.06ms
Next up, our esports title, Rainbow 6 Siege! Our least demanding game, as it is an esports title, designed to play on as many computers as possible. We see close to 400FPS at 1080p and high FPS at both 1440p and 4K. If you genuinely want the edge in your esports games, pair this card with 1080p 300+Hz monitors.
Frametimes are as follow, 1080p; 2.53ms | 1440p; 4.82ms | 4K; 4.82ms

Conclusion
The GeForce RTX 3070 Ti is an excellent card for those wanting to dip their toes in 4K 60FPS gaming, but it really shines as a 1080p 144Hz and 1440p 120Hz gaming card. If you’re looking for higher refresh rate monitors with this card. The 3070 Ti is a fantastic compliment, especially if you adjust the settings slightly away from max.
