I have never build a pc before, though all of my guy friends are into it, and I really want to make my own. I'm not incredibly knowledgeable on compatibility or how to properly customize my pc to fit my experience. I am mostly looking to build this to optimize running softwares that my laptops either have trouble handling or the shape of the laptop makes things difficult. 3D Modeling softwares such as Maya, ZBrush, and SolidWorks as well as Animation tools in Maya and Adobe Animate would be GREAT. There are also many games that my ThinkPad cannot survive, so I haven't been able to get into them. It lags before the game even starts and I end up losing before my screen unfreezes.
I'm also looking for a large curved monitor to make coding easier. It's problematic hunched over my laptop screen and is becoming a problem for my neck and upper back.
I picked my parts based on what some google searches and my brother said was good in his experience handling rendering and animation software. But I would obviously do a lot more research in practice.

I mainly want a pc that can do everything. Gaming, video editing, recording, and maybe streaming. I don’t need anything too extreme but as long as I have a computer that can play the games I want to play with ease than I’d be happy.

I haven't built a pc before, but I've been learning about the process and I'm excited to get parts from Micro Center someday. The parts I chose are great for some gaming, learning to code, and for Folding @ Home . :)

This Back to School build is for a teacher (me). In 23 years of teaching, this was easily the hardest 15 months of my career. I teach theatre and is hasn't been happening in a pandemic, so I had to find ways to engage my students.
This build is designed to help me maintain my sanity during the next school year. My PC has always been a work/play hybrid. I want a PC that is all for creative relaxation. I enjoy Planet Coaster and Everspace (soon to be 2.0) as ways to occupy my brain when not working.
The build is modest (Ryzen 7 , RX6700), nothing too crazy. The monitor is probably the biggest indulgence. Oh, and the keyboard. I put my hands on the G915 at MC in Madison Heights MI last week and now I know what a $250 keyboard feels like. That's something I would probably find an alternative for....

I would love to get to stream and play smoother with my friends this school year without going too over the top but still being an upgrade as I have a Powerspec G434 from you guys. It still works great but I would absolutely love to stream at a higher FPS. While being on a budget this PC still looks good and I would be so proud to own it. And with that gift card I would be able to have enough money to buy a 3070 and pursue my dream of streaming more!

I bought this computer about a year ago when the pandemic just started. As a student with a pretty tight budget so I ended up with a budget graphics card that is a bit outdated. Still, I never regret buying it since it has helped me a lot throughout the pandemic as well as the component shortages - My best companion when studying and gaming with my friends.

I would want to just build the strongest and fastest computer for any type of need that would show up. Ample ram and Fast gen 4 storage. A super strong graphics card help me tun high frames in my games and be used for virtual applications. The possibility would be endless.

Plan on reusing some of my old parts that hold sentimental value. Threw in a 144 Hz monitor because I've never owned one. Plan on using this thing for the rest of my life. Going into senior year this year. Might just splurge on a monitor.

Basically, I need this computer for school mostly. Everyone in my family will be using it for many different purpouses. One of my dreams is to become a stream and with this amazing compter I i will be able to. Currently i have a 2012 Think Centre M72e Its a small form factor pc. You can literally hold it in your hand. I cant play any games really. If i try minecraft at the lowest setting it will still lag its unplayable. Next year I will work for Micro Center since I love computers. Since I'm only travelling a few hours away, I technically don't need to use a small ITX computer case, but I thought that it would be a lot more convenient in a small college dorm room (even if upgrading might be a bit more difficult). I am a computer science and game design major so RAM and overall performance is very important to me (I would also play my fair share of games [CSGO, Spelunky, Humankind]). That's why I went with 16GB RAM, 5600x, and an RTX 3060. I would consider a 3070, but prices are still a bit too high. I'm leaning towards NVIDIA cards since they seem to have a better hardware encoder, which would come in handy for rendering short demo videos for my game design classes. In terms of storage, I have a 2TB hard drive, so I would use that in addition to the SN750. I chose the Asrock B550M simply because it was a cheaper option. As far as I know, my dorm has ethernet, but I'd rather play it safe with the integrated Wi-Fi chip. I have a monitor, keyboard, and mouse already so I left those out and I'm not 100% sure what to go with in terms of OS (leaning towards Windows because I'm much more familiar with it).
