Is my power supply enough?

I currently am thinking about upgrading my cpu, motherboard, and ram and I’m curious if my 850w power supply is enough to power it all. I have a 3080 strix 12gb and wanting to possibly get the Ryzen 9 7900x. Pc part picker shows my build to be just shy of 700w and I don’t plan on over clocking but this is a link to my build if anyone has advice.

    Hey, Darianm!

850w should be enough for that build! Don't forget, you can always swing by your local Micro Center and speak to one of our knowledgeable Build Your Own associates who can guide you through every part you'll need for your new build! We can also price match most other main retailers that have the product in stock.

    Hope this helps!

  • 850 watts maximum rated power is a great default for plenty of power delivery and also trending at operating in the main very comfortably well below maximum specifications. Also, the slightly lower maximum rating as compared to 1000w+, results in the component not being too heavy in lbs. kg., an influence on the bulk and awkwardness of moving/lifting the system. Though cases are rarely transported or shuffled about in a home or office, slightly lighter PSU selection is still something to consider.

  • I looked over your images you posted as to your selections for your system again, Darian. I very much like and concur with your selections, excepting over the years I've come to lean away from GIGABYTE, based on their BIOS layouts on-screen being awkward and not as intuitive and well laid out as ASUS and others. Lian cases I've switched away from, due to their weight and bulk being a bit on the massive and backbreaking side, with so much tempered glass. I like now just one panel of tempered glass on a case with good working and placement internal volume, such as the Cooler Master newer cases. I selected H500 and I'm very happy with it. Lian Li Bauer I was once a great proponent of, until hauling that chassis back and forth from design desk to dining table build-area laid flat on side, so I began looking in earnest to not have so many glass panels galore!
