I've been wanting to build a PC for a while. I do light gaming and other stuff.
Is this a viable parts list? Any tips?

That looks reasonable to me for light gaming. You should check what games you want to play and see what they say about using a GT 1650 graphics card. This is the equivalent of the 8700G's internal graphics are. You can also search Youtube for "780M" plus the name of a game for a review video.
The 8700G is fairly expensive because it is the best of the integrated graphics. But if you change your mind and buy a graphics card then you might regret because purely as a CPU it isn't that strong. So if you are committed to no card, it's fine. Otherwise you might make another choice.
