updated bios for powerspec G482

Hi,

Currently on my G482 (I 285K/5090) powerspec workstation using it's original BIOS F9c. I am trying to fix some noise Linux is complaining about related to ACPI while booting. I tried to update to F18 from gigabyte but got an error of "OemId Mismatch" from the Q-Flash and booting and running flash from a USB stick went through the paces but also failed.

Is there any way to get a compatible flash from Microcenter on this system that is somewhat newer? F9c is from 2024 and I'm running very new kernels.

Thanks,

  • Okay, read some other posts by mike stating that we could use the qf flash port and button so I did that with F18 from gigabyte and it appears to be working. I just need to go enable xmp i guess and I'll see if that helps with my acpi and a couple other issues.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
