New G758 Freezes with high bandwidth
G758 Purchased on Saturday 12/20. Soon after setting up Windows 11, I tried to run a speed test in Edge. About 3 seconds in the screen freezes and is completely unresponsive. Only a hard boot will fix. Since then, I’ve tried speed tests in Chrome to the same result. And have had it freeze soon after starting a Twitch Stream and within seconds of loading into a game on GeForce Now.
I’m connected via WiFi and the freezing on the speed tests (which I’ve run several, since it’s the easiest way to determine if the problem is still happening) happens around 650-750mbps. I’m using the shark fin antenna that came with the PC.
I have installed several games through Steam, Battle.net, and the Xbox app and have not had any freezing issues. I also spent some time playing Total War: Warhammer 3 running benchmarks to tweak settings, and playing for a bit and did not have any freezes.
This freezing occurred when RAM was at stock 4800 and in EXPO01 at 6000. I did a soft Windows Reset keeping my files installed and that did not help. WiFi driver version is 3.1.0.1430

Tested on WIFI and Ethernet, I'm not seeing the issue on my side. Do you have any third party software you've installed that's meant to optimize network connections?

I’m having the same exact problem. I just bought a g758 on 12/26. Default windows install with no additional apps added yet. When I run Speedtest or stream some videos, the screen freezes and needs a hard power cycle/restart

I’ve tried both WiFi and Ethernet and it has the same behavior.

Try hitting the power button once, or tapping the caps lock key. Verify the system is frozen rather than maybe just a potential GPU issue.

yes, i've confirmed. caps lock and numlock keys are not responsive after freeze. single press of power does nothing. I have to hold down the power button to get the computer to shut down. event viewer doesn't show any error except when it restarts showing that it wasn't shut down properly

System is hard locked then. Your system is also stock? Nothing added to it?
My first thought would be the drives becoming unresponsive and causing the freeze. It's more typical of that type of freeze. Working on a few other scenarios to replicate and MSI working with MSI as well.

Correct. This is straight out of the box, no adds or modifications to software/BIOS or hardware. Windows update shows all up-to-date.
I've since installed a few gaming apps (Steam, Epic) and the games can download, install and run, but it will still freeze when I either start streaming videos or test speedtest.net (not every time, but most of the time)

I never received any other information or complains on this issue. He said it would freeze on a speed test. We weren't able to replicate it, I'd assume it's a compatibility issue between the NIC and a specific router/gateway.
