the connection on the computer for the monitor cable is male and is not compatible with standard monitor cables. Does anyone know if there is a special cable for this computer?

Greetings.
The cable spot in the middle of the picture isn't what you would use for a monitor.
You'd use either HDMI or one of the 2 DisplayPort spots on the desktop to connect any displays to:
