Speeds: WD 12TB Elements Desktop Hard Drive HDD, USB 3.0, Compatible with PC, Mac, PS4 & Xbox
• I just purchased this drive. I reformatted as Mac Extended Journaled and created 3 partitions.
• I use Carbon Clone for backup. I started a backup set for my 6TB drive (3.5TB used).
• 21 hours later only 2.5 TB has been backed up to the WD. This seems painfully slow - even for a first backup.
Question: Is this normal for this drive? Could reformatting and partitioning be a problem?
Asking for a friend. 🤓

Greetings. Are you transferring a lot of small files or just a few large files?
Backups will vary based on a lot of factors for how long exactly they will take, it is hard to determine an average speed with file transfers.

Admittedly it was a first run backup. Will give it another go with tonight's backup. Should be much more efficient.
