Upgrading HPTouchsmart 23

Current system specs:

• HPTouchsmart 23-d060qd
• Processor: i7-3770S 3.10GHz
• RAM: 8 GB
• Windows 10 64bit

I would like to upgrade the following and looking for recommendations:

1. disk drive to solid state drive (would you recommend Samsung 860 PRO 512GB SSD 2-bit or 870 QVO 1 TB SSD 4bit - or something else)
2. upgrade the memory to 16GB (would you recommend G Skill Ripjaws 16GB x 2 8GB DDR3L-1600 Memory kit)
3. I plan a fresh install of Windows (looking for recommendation on an external HD for backup/restore purposes)

if you are on budget, go with crucial mx500 1tb/2tb. Samsung 860 pro is expensive while 870 qvo use the qlc flash which is considered not reliable both of performance and lifespan.
