I want to get the core i7 10700k and currently I have the Cooler Master Hyper 212, is the hyper 212 going to be able to handle the heat if I overclock the i7 or should I get and aio cooler?
actually it probably won't do much better by adding another fan, the dual fin part is much more important
I don't think so if you are going to overclock it. Aio is always an option, but dual tower air coolers, like dark rock pro 4 or thermalright FC140 should handle it just as fine.
It probably came in the box with one fan (mine did) but notice you can add another fan to the other side if you need the 212 to cool harder.
I have a 5800x build with the hyper 212 black edition, I added a noctua nf-f12 fan and I didn't notice any difference on temperature(optimized pbo, still in the high 80cs under heavy load), probably just less than 5c difference which is in margin. From what I see I would say it would be much better to just get a good dual tower cooler than to buy an expensive premium fan that can make noticeable difference.
