when i play some games on my computer the screen will freeze but i still can hear the audio in the background and when i bring up the start menu the screen goes back to normal, it only happens with some games like the halo infinite campaign or cod Warzone (the halo mp and the mw 2019 part of warzone run fine) i have both these games at the recommended settings for my pc (rtx 3060 factory oc, ryzen 5 2600, 16gb ram) and even when i turn the games down to the minimum settings it happens (less often though) i have tried the following: uninstalling the game, uninstalling drivers, verifying the integrity of the files through steam and battle.net, running the game in admin, disabling fullscreen optimization, and changing install drives. its gotten to the point where its not worth it to play the game because of how often this happens. thanks for any help you can provide.
Greetings! Please try a clean install of your video card drivers if you have not already to see if that helps. Here is a step by step guide on how to do this: https://community.microcenter.com/kb/articles/133-how-to-clean-install-video-card-drivers-in-windows-10
it went away for a few days but it has returned, i tied uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling them but unfortunately it didnt help
To clarify, you did the clean install process listed above? It is a different process than a uninstall/reinstall.
@Dinkus
We'll need to isolate the point of failure. GPU - Cable - Monitor. Check event viewer under Administrative Events for a Nvidia display driver crash at this time. That would point us at the card. If you're not seeing that, when this happens unplug the monitor from the PC and plug it back in. Does video return?
