Video Card?

So my Pinnacle program keeps freezing up on my current desktop.I have Windows 10. Do I need a better video card to make it work better and if so what kind should I get? Be kind, I'm new to this. :) I would actually like to build one but don't know what I need except for lots of memory. I have over a Terabyte of photos.
