If I trigger the extended warranty on my TV purchased from microcenter will the refund come in the form of cash or a gift card?

When you buy a tv from microcenter you can purchase an extended warranty with it. The salesperson told me that among other things it covers dead pixels. My TV has lots of dead pixels so presumably I can trigger this extended warranty whenever I want. I was told that I would get my money back when I used the warranty. My question is do I get the money back in the form of cash or as a microcenter gift card?

Are monitor warranties the same? for $1000 PC monitors?
