Does anyone know the progression of HP 15/15g/15q/15t notebooks?

My friend has this notebook. It’s a HP 15-bs234wm. I’ve been able to help him out with upgrading the ram and ssd for hdd, but it’s running the Pentium Silver N5000. Because of the onboard gpu, it lacks the m.2 pcie slot that the intel core boards have. The chassis is identical, and the only differences for the board that I know of are: processor, onboard graphics, and the m.2 slot. Assuming that voltage/current measure correctly, would a swap to a different model (same year), or even same model (different year) be feasible? If so, anyone know how these models progressed? According to the manual, the production date is 2017-2018.

The board in it:
EPG52 LA-G121P

Possible upgrades:

CKL50 LA-E801P

DKL50 LA-E802P

Of course there are others, but I imagine i5/i7 7th or 8th gen will carry it until it’s replaced with full new system.
