I bought a copy of windows a couple of years back (from Microcenter) but can't find the media for it. Is there a record of the key for it associated with my microcenter account? I only recently made an account online but I always gave either my phone number or email (can't remember) at the cash register.

Thank you for contacting micro center. For the windows license keys, these are not store in our system and are only on the physical media. now the way it should work is that once the key is activated on the system it should store it and reactivate it when you reinstall windows. are you still able to get on to the pc that had windows activated on it?
no i brought the pc into microsoft for repairs and replacement parts. they forgot to get a copy of the key off of the registry and told me yesterday that I needed to buy a new copy.
