Suggested updgrade for PowerSpec G700

I have a PowerSpec G700 that works very well. However, if I want to update to Windows 11 it is not 'supported' as it is a first gen Ryzen CPU (1700). All other specs meet the upgrade requirements. As the system is currently, no basic issues running Davinci Resolve or streaming software, just the Microsoft requirement.

What would be a suggested pathway to an upgraded CPU without breaking the bank?

I'd update your BIOS to the latest, 5606 from here: https://www.asus.com/Motherboards-Components/Motherboards/PRIME/PRIME-B350-PLUS/HelpDesk_BIOS/

Upgrade your CPU to a Zen+ or Zen 2. I'd go for a Ryzen 7 3700X. Whatever you can find at a good price right now. From there after it boots, load your defaults in the BIOS. You should be good to go. I'd probably consider upgrading the RAM as well if it's in your budget. Try to find a 2x16GB DDR4-3600 C16 kit. With a Zen 2 CPU you're not going to have the issues pushing past 2933 that you did with Zen and you'll see a real performance gain with the higher frequency RAM on this platform.
