Asus X570 Pro Question
Hi everyone! I bought a ryzen 5900x and a asus x570 motherboard and I have a couple of questions. 1. Will I need to update the motherboard bios in order for it to work? 2. These parts are an upgrade from my current PC. I was wondering if I could just take my 2 ssd's from my current 3700x & msi b450 gaming plus and put it into the new build no issues?

Greetings. Motherboards purchased from us are marked if the BIOS is updated / or have the BIOS revision on the box. Otherwise you can flash with your old processor using this guide from ASUS: https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1012152
You can move over your SSDs - but you'll want to reinstall Windows with a motherboard change as drivers etc. are going to be different. Any programs etc. will need to be reinstalled. Pictures/documents - files like this, can be viewed/use without issue.

The mobo would likely shipped with the latest bios and would support it with no issues. Yes you can basically move anything from your old build to new build with no issues since you are staying in amd ryzen platform

Oh okay sounds good! I'm assuming I will need to update the drivers for motherboard/amd chip though right?

You're not going to have an issue on a new X570 board with a 5900X.
Preferably with a new motherboard+CPU you should do a clean OS install. Either way you want to be on the latest AMD chipset driver, especially if you're on Windows 11 as there's a core scheduling fix in that update. More about that here: https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/pa-400

Would it be bad if I didn't do a clean OS install?

It will boot and work but you would likely run into some driver issues, useless faulty drivers would take up your storage and you will have risk of system instability triggered by conflicted drivers.

Windows 10/11 is pretty good about figuring out the new hardware configuration. Make sure your SATA controller mode matches or you'll crash, but booting into safe mode will fix it automatically. Otherwise, uninstall any old driver installer packages that aren't relevant on your new hardware.
