I bought a Powerspec 1720 quite a while ago and just now getting to looking at updating a few things

bios? or anything else. the box and whatever manuals if there were any are long gone. I am not sure if it came with any manual. (not sure) from what I have read online it didn't really come with anything that would be considered a manual (like a motherboard manual) I went to the powerspec site and only found drivers. I might have missed something there of course, but I couldn't find it easily.

I did find a post on the internetwebnets eluding these laptops have clevo pb70-71ED or pb70-71RF (or some variation) of that.

It would be nice just to know and or have an actual manual for the motherboard.

Sorry I'm late coming to reply. Fellow 1720 owner. You are correct that this is a rebadged Clevo laptop, the PB70EF-G. Unfortunately, Clevo is very strange about bios/firmware updates, they are incredibly rare and none are available for the 1720. This means we don't get any of the recent Intel mitigations for Spectre and friends, but it is what it is, I suppose.

I have this laptop too. I need to get ahold of the stock BIOS for it if possible.

Never mind about the BIOS. Clevo has it and its a newer BIOS version (link below). Please note that you will not have the PowerSpec BIOS logos during POST if you use the BIOS from Clevo but everything has checked out as it's same motherboard. If you can find "H2OEZE 100.00.03.11" you can use the tool to change them back to the PowerSpec ones. Clevo also has the full drivers up for download. Some are newer than what is on PowerSpec's site.
