Checked with the expert desk before buying a MSI B560M PRO-VDH motherboard for a TrueNAS CORE (ver 12.0-U8.1) , but it looks like either they didn't know the integrated Realtek 8125B LAN interface is incompatible with TrueNAS --OR-- the MSI motherboard is defective (yes, I did check the BIOS to make sure the LAN interface was enabled and the hard wired Ethernet connection is good up to the computer).
One puzzler is that there's no MAC address listed on the MSI product box, in the enclosed literature, or on the component side of the motherboard.
Can you shed a bit of light on this?
Greetings, personally I am not familiar with TrueNAS, perhaps another member here would be.
You may want to check with their support directly at https://www.truenas.com/ as they may have better information on product/driver compatibility.
Looks like an issue with the new 2.5Gb NIC. Take a look at this thread on their forum: https://www.truenas.com/community/threads/2-5gb-nic-not-detecting-in-12-0-u4-rtl8125.93563/
Use the tunables method otherwise the next update will break your fix.
In Linux from terminal type: ifconfig
HWAddr is your MAC address.
For FreeBSD from terminal type: ifconfig -a
It'll still be HWAddr.
