I recently purchased a Samsung Odyssey G7 28" 4K/144hz monitor [LS28AG700NNXZA] from MC and I've been having a weird issue with it:
About once a day, the monitor will lose the DisplayPort input, go black for just 1-3 seconds - and immediately reconnect. A minor inconvenience, but very annoying.
I've made sure the cables were connected well, of course - and also I updated the monitor's firmware, my NVIDIA GPU drivers, and tried 2 different cables - and it is still happening.
Has anyone else experienced something just like this and know how to fix it?
Or should i just return it? I'm still in the 30 day return window.
Thanks!
You mention having problems while plugged in with DisplayPort, can you test with HDMI?
I haven't tried it out yet. I just switched over to HDMI now, and I'll send another update here if it happens again.
However using HDMI limits me to 4K/60hz - and I bought this monitor specifically for 4K/144hz.
@vi_
I might check to see if it's a cable issue. Lower the refresh rate to 120 just to see of the issue occurs at at lower refresh rate. You might also check your color depth setting in Nvidia control panel.
So after a day of using HDMI, I can confirm that it also happens with HDMI... (like I said it only happens about once a day).
I'll now test DisplayPort @ 120hz as @TSMikeW suggested...
At this point I'm thinking I might be better off just returning it. (but that raises the question of how to disassemble the aesthetic blue wheel thing on the back?)
Typically with the Samsung "rings" (not sure on their exact term) to hold the stand, you turn it anti-clockwise to loosen it, and it should slowly release into two halves, then it would uncover the screws for the stand again.
