hi! i've been looking into getting a pc as i want to upgrade from my laptop. i'm going to be using it for causal gaming. i'm on a budget at $1,100.

no case/cooler are listed as i'm thinking about getting them elsewhere. the case would be a darkflash dlx22 while the cooling system would be a id-cooling pink flow+fan.

cpu: amd ryzen 5 5600x

motherboard: asus b55m-a prime

ram: corsair vengeance rgb pro 16gb (2 x 8GB)

power supply: thermaltake smart series 700 watt 80

video card: asus nvidia geforce gtx 1650 tuf gaming overclocked

2.5" ssd: samsung 870 EVO 500GB

while i've done research, i'm still new to picking out pc parts. any advice is very much appreciated!!

  • That's a really smart choice of parts for that budget. If it were me, I'd try to invest more into a better GPU, though. The 1650 is very entry-level as far as gaming graphics cards go. For about $100 more, you could do a AMD 6600 or even a 3060 for a bit more. That would make the build a good bit more future-proof.

Parts list looks good for the price range. I would agree for sure on trying to get a better video card. The RX 6600 would be a big step up for just around $70-100 more dependent on brand/model.
