Hi, My son would like to set up a home work station with 2 monitors and a docking station (similar to his work set up). His work computer is a Lenovo Think Pad, Model # 20TA004QUS Windows 10 with USB-C and HDMI ports. He would like docking station to also work with his MacBook Pro with "Thunderbolt" 3 ports.
Is there a docking station that would be compatible with both Mac and PC? If so, can he just unplug one laptop and plug the other in and just start working, or will he need to "Tell" the docking station that a new laptop is plugged in?
Thanks,
Ray

From what I could find on the model it's a ThinkPad E14 Gen2 with a Thunderbolt 4 port. That would support USB PD and DP Alt Mode as would the Macbook with the Thunderbolt 3 port.
I'd get something like this: https://www.microcenter.com/product/631312/j5create-jcd543-usb-c-triple-display-docking-station
Up to three monitors and you can charge either system off the dock.
Great thanks. He is stopping in Saturday and will ask about your suggestions
