I have a Dell XPS 8940 Gaming PC (Platinum Collection) and the CPU temp while gaming is hovering around 80 C. The GPU temp is fine. Does it make sense to upgrade my cooling system or is this not really an issue?
Is this temperature while the PC is sitting idle or while gaming? To be honest, that machine probably won't do any better if you change out the CPU cooler. The case itself would need more airflow to release the heat from the case to better cool the processor.
Then that temperature is generally safe for gaming since you aren't constantly running those temperatures 24/7. I'd start to be concerned if your temps reached 90 and above while gaming since that would cause overheating to the system.
