Windows 11 Audio Issue

For some reason, out of nowhere, my sound started going haywire. It became very crackly, started become really loud then back to normal, and there is a lot of reverb. I didn't play with any sound settings it just happened out of nowhere. The same thing is happening with other headphones too. Can someone help me?

We need to know what equipment you're working with. Laptop or Desktop? If the latter, what type of speakers? Software wise, my first thing to check for would be audio add on software like Nahimic.

My computer is a custom built desktop and I am using headphones plugged into an audio jack on the computer. I am not using any sort of audio software

You're connected to the front panel audio header? Does it happen on both the front audio and the rear audio jacks?
