My current PC I built 5 years ago. I've recently been running into an issue with running out of harddrive space. I have considered just getting a PCI card and adding in an M.2 drive. But I'm leaning more toward replacing the MB and CPU. If I go this route, then I would obviously want a MB with at least 2 M.2 slots on it.
The games I play are Paraox games, a few light RTS games, like They Are Billions, and turn based games.
What I currently have is as follows:
Corsair 760T ATX Full Tower Case
Hydro 110i CPU Cooler
Asus ROG Crosshair VI Hero MB
Ryzen 5 1600X 3.6ghz CPU
EVGA Hybrid FTW GeFore GTX 1080 GPU
Blue-ray player
Samsung 960 EVO 1 TB M.2 Drive
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB DDR4-3200 PC4-25600 RAM
G.Skill Ripjaws 32GB DDR4-3200 PC4-25600 RAM
EVGA SuperNOVA G3 750 Watt 80 Plus Gold ATX PSU
What I'm currently looking at is;
Ryzen 5 5600X 3.7ghz CPU. PN: 100-100000065BO
Inland 2TB M.2 Drive. PN: 2TB NVME QLC V2
What I need assistance with is the MB. I've looked at a few, some really good choices available. My total budget is about $700, with the CPU and M.2 Drive taking about $350 already.
Also, looking at possibly upgrading my video card in the next year or two.

That Crosshair VI is a hell of a fine motherboard and supports the latest 5000 series Ryzen with a BIOS update. If I were you, I'd add SATA SSD or if you insist, a PCIe card with m.2 on it, along with an R5 5600 or 5600X.
