Just Announced: The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 Series GPUS!

I believe the camping line was incidentally stated as being for the 4090 but was really for the Zen 4 launch so a false alarm.
-
I would not at all be surprised if we get reports of lines tomorrow, especially at the Tustin CA store. But still no reports of lines??!?
-
I really want the 4090 but I'm not camping out. So lame. Hopefully Marietta store have lots in stock.
-
I might be willing to camp overnight, but I haven't decided. I'm planning to go to the store on Tuesday afternoon to see what the situation is and decide then. Hopefully the Sharonville, OH location isn't too crazy.
-
Still no lines? I'm shocked.
-
Just my 2 cents. If you have a RTX 3000 series, no point in upgrading to 4000 series. I was finally able to grab a 3090Ti at an affordable price and man it's still blowing me away with the tasks that I use for it.
-
It's not worth the hype that everyone perceives it to be. RTX 3000 series can still hold its water.
-
There's a significant uptick in performance between the 3090 and 4090. Please let me know if there's already a line at your store.
-
It depends on what level of performance each user demands. In my opinion not everyone will want or need to upgrade to a 4090 but for those who value the currently cutting edge performance this card offers, it is well worth the purchase.
-
A 3090ti is nothing to sneeze at. It's a fantastic processor.
-
Is there a line at your store yet @ronwoodson ?
-
I'm planning to just head to the Marietta store early on Wednesday and hope there is a Strix or Suprim x available.
-
I will be swinging by my local store in NJ before work around 8am to see if there is a line. If its small, I may wait it out and show up a little late to work.
-
I messaged microcenter and they said no camping out, first come first serve. So I don't expect their to be any lines if they are disallowing any camping
-
Im hearing that some microcenters are prohibiting camping out and being police enforced. They will call the police on you and get you for trespassing. Why do you think there's still no line for the RTX 4090 at California store and there were people lined up for a whole week for the 3090 launch.
Recommend getting explicit permission to camp so you don't get trespassing issues.
If the store opens at 9 AM and I get there at 8:59:59:999 AM will they call the police on you for trespassing, probably not, but best be careful and not get there to early.
If camping is not allowed best get explicit permission for the earliest time you can get there, and don't get there one second earlier.
Hey if the general manager says yes you can camp out I don't care I got more important things to worry about, then your good, you got explicit permission.
If they say no camping out maybe ask and be like hey ok if I don't bring a chair a blanket and literally just sit on the floor is that ok? Might want to ask that to, to see if that's an option.
If you don't follow the rules and get there to early, they have the right to refuse to sell to you, maybe the people that follow the rules will tell on you to the general manager that you broke the rules and got there to early, and they get the card and you don't.
How can you gauantee you get a card if you can't camp out? You can't. Seems to make the availability issues even worse now that it's all luck based. Seems very unfair. It's why I'm against the ban on camping. But we have no choice but to respect it.
Best bet now at getting a card is camping out at best buy for days on end now that everyone will be camping out there now and not microcenter, but sense they don't know when they are getting cards until that day, seems like we are all out of luck and it will be months if not over a year before everyone who wants one can get one. A truly sad Day.
And honestly I might just skip this generation. There's no new games coming out I want to play. The 4080 is less than 10 percent better than a 3090, while the faster tier 4080 is less than 20 percent (not worth getting if you already have a 3090. The only card I would get is a 4090, substantial performance increase over a 3090. But sense it's all luck based and my chances of getting one are slim, might as well as just skip this generation. By the time I can get a 4090 it will be late 2023, and the 5000 series will have already started development for over a year and may release late 2024, so might as well as just wait until 5000 series. Who knows if lots of people are skipping this generation (seems to be the case, demand will skyrocket for 5000 series and maybe microcenter will allow camping because of it. Cross fingers. Lots of people skipped 2000 series because there was marginal increase in performance in traditional rasterizarion, and look at how the demand was for the 3000 series.
-
I just saw videos from J2C and LTT and the performance increase is probably the biggest in a long time (without DLSS). Plus, it's a good chance every generation will have huge demand so you'll always be waiting to upgrade. If you wanna upgrade, give a try and don't sit out until next time.
EDIT: I'm speaking of the 4090 performance.
-
Hmm, to arrive at 7 or more like 8 tomorrow morning.
-
Just visited my local store (Sharonville Ohio), they're doing a randomized reservation/lottery system. So no camping
-
Google says store opens at 10am but on MC website, it says 9am tomorrow (10-12). Is MC opening an hour earlier for the launch?
-
Yes, sales can start at 9am ET so that's when they are opening tomorrow.
-
Made it to 15th in line and picked up a Strix this morning in Marietta. There were only 11 and those sold out a couple people behind me. By the time I left there were 40+ people there trying to get cards and there was probably enough for most since there were 30 Tuf OC cards along with a few others.
-
Got my TUF OC in Marietta this morning. Number 44 in line.
-
Does anyone know if it's on stock or when that'll happen again?
-
Typically, after the initial supply, we get a new drop in a couple of weeks.
-
Was in line in Cambridge and got a Tuf OC. Wanted the Suprim Liquid but there weren't any Suprim cards on launch day. I was pissed! Ended up selling it to a buddy for what i paid. Was a good experience to be at the launch either way. Hoping Cambridge gets a Suprim Liquid i can pick up asap!
-
the 4090 launch was super massive at my store we had at least 70-80 people ready for the morning launch
