We have a desktop PowerSpec. It suddenly stopped being recognized by the monitor on the HDMI cable. The monitor does connect with a laptop. We also tried the PowerSpec with a different monitor and it was the same issue. What can we do to get this to work again?
Are you seeing any LED indicators on the motherboard? It may not be POSTing for another reason
Thanks for getting back to me. Where would I look to see that? There is a red light with a button on it that keeps displaying. My son (whose computer it is) say that he has pressed that in the past and the image showed up but now that trick isn't working.

What model is your system?
The Sticker says G222 build 7 if that's helpful.
On the motherboard, right side. Right above the 24 pin there's a set of LED's labeled EZ Debug. Which one is lit?
VGA lights up but then goes off.
Your motherboard seems to think everything is fine. Most likely scenario is the GPU failed, but the motherboard isn't halting. Remove the GPU, connect your monitor to your motherboard and test it. If it works, you'll need to replace the GPU.
Is the GPU the piece with the double fan on it or the smaller square piece below it with a chip connected?
The double fan is not spinning - should it be?
It's in the top PCIe slot with the double fan. The fan only spins under load. It typically will spin when the PC turns on then stop. May spin up as the windows GUI loads depending on the temperature.
It's really bolted into the computer. Do I take the whole thing out? There are a number of screws that I need to disconnect. Just want to make sure I'm doing it the right way. I'm a novice with this stuff
There should only be two screws securing it. Then there's a PCIe lock on the board to pop it out of the socket. If you're not familiar with this we can help you with this in store at our service department.
