The First-Time Builder MSI Gaming PC Guide

MSI has a gorgeous selection of PC peripherals, so let’s build an all-MSI gaming rig to go with them! Our aesthetic is a white and black build designed to highlight the MSI’s versatility in PC components while matching the Optix monitor and MSI Vigor keyboard and mouse.

Processor: Intel Core i5-12600K Alder Lake 3.7GHz Ten-Core LGA 1700 Processor

The Intel Core 15 12600K is a10-core, 16-thread robust processor that is perfect for your inauguration into the Intel gaming world. If you're looking for more power for video editing or streaming, the i7-12700k or i9-12900k can be slotted into this build with no changes

Motherboard: MSI Z690 MPG Force WiFi DDR5

White motherboards are the hot new thing in PC building now, and for good reason: they look stunning. This board has PCIe 5.0 PCIe 16x slots perfect for current and upcoming graphics cards. MSI also upped the ante with its patented Twin Frozr heatsinks for its MOSFETs and M.2 drives.

RAM: Corsair VENGEANCE RGB 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR5-5600 PC5-44800 CL36 Desktop Memory Kit - White

With DDR5 memory being the only choice for this motherboard, we opted for 32GB of DDR5-5600MHz ram. Corsair and MSI have great integrations for their RGB sync software, giving you free control of the RGB ram from either MSI’s Mystic Light or Corsair’s iCue software.

Graphics Card: MSI NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Suprim X Overclocked Triple-Fan 8GB GDDR6X

Since we’re going with almost all MSI components and peripherals, the MSI GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Suprim X is the go-to choice for this setup, giving the silver accent to conform with the black and white build. And, as an NVIDIA RTX 3070 Ti card, you'll have all the power to run almost any game at high settings at 1440p - perfect for the Optix monitor we'll be using!

Solid State Drives: Samsung 980 Pro SSD 1TB M.2 NVMe PCIe Gen 4x4 Solid State Drive

My go-to M.2 SSD is the Samsung 980 Pro NVMe PCIe Gen 4x4 SSD. Samsung continues to be an industry leader in performance and the reliability of their Pro series gives you the ease of mind to know your games are running at peak performance.

Case: MSI MPG GUNGNIR 110R Tempered Glass Mid-Tower - White

Keeping with the bold white and black aesthetic to match our MSI peripherals, we went with MSI’s popular GUNGNIR case in white. Giving our build a unique front look with the GUNGNIR’s craftsmanship that invokes its namesake, Odin’s spear.

Power Supply: MSI MPG A850GF 850 Watt 80 Plus Gold ATX Fully Modular Power Supply

Considering your overhead for the build, an 850-watt power supply is more than enough to handle everything, as well as add a touch of black accents to the inside of the case. With its fully modular design and flat cables, this power supply makes cable management a breeze. You could also further accent the build by adding black and white cable extensions from either Inland, CableMod, or Micro Connectors.

Cooler: MSI MAG CoreLiquid 240R V2 240mm RGB Water Cooling Kit - White

With its 270-degree rotatable CPU block, the MAG Coreliquid keeps the MSI dragon logo in a proper upright position, no matter how you have this cooler mounted in the build. Built-insound dampening to help keep your AIO quiet, making your overall system as silent as possible.

Keyboard & Mouse: MSI Vigor GK30 Gaming Mouse and Keyboard Combo - White

Finally, we get to the inspiration behind our build’s color choice with the Vigor GK30 in white. The keyboard has built-in multimedia keys and mechanical-like plungers to give you a smooth typing experience. The mouse has a comfortable, ambidextrous design with on-the-fly DPI control.

Mouse Pad: Agility GD70 XL Gaming Mouse Pad

Get your desk setup right with an extra comfortable mouse pad designed to give you a silky smooth experience with an anti-slip rubber base. The silver MSI dragon logo emblazoned on this black mouse pad will definitely make your white mouse and keyboard pop.

Headset: Immerse GH50 USB Gaming Headset
