Vantec SATA/IDE to USB 2.0 adapter
Powerspec B249, Windows 11.
I'm trying to use a Vantec SATA/IDE to USB 2.0 adapter to connect to a hard drive.
According to the manufacturer the externally connected drive should be recognized in Disk Management. This is not the case. I Have tried three different drives. One was from a PC w/ Windows 7 OS if that makes a difference. The others are even older.
The retailer says the adapter must be at fault and I should return it. Before doing so, is there anything I can try? I have seen a dozen YouTube videos on the subject but none of then address this exact problem.

Greetings,
If you have tried different drives with multiple USB ports, then I would assume the issue is the adapter itself. There is not any software, etc. for this, they are plug and play adapters.
