I'm sorry if this forum is the wrong vehicle to do this, but I wanted to provide props to Micro Center for their great return policy. I've done more than a few builds over the past year and a half, and I've started to use Micro Center more and more because they have such a great return policy. I know that if I have a part in a build that ends up not being the right one, they'll take it back without a hassle. That's huge in a hobby that involves so many parts, etc.
Also, I wanted to give a HUGE shout out to the team at the Westmont, Illinois location. I happen to be a multi store supervisor for a fashion retailer, so I like to believe I have a pretty good understanding of store operations and insuring customer are well taken care of. To a person, the staff at the Westmont, Illinois Microcenter are friendly, helpful and truly care about their customers. It really is a pleasure to visit them, and I feel so much more inclined to drive the 40 minutes to the store vs. buying online so I can get advice. And when I already know what I want, their buy online, pickup in store system is quick and easy. Great job!
Lastly, the reason I felt compelled to write this now is due to an incident I had happen yesterday when I was returning a motherboard that weas defective. I did a crazy boneheaded thing and left three complete NVME storage drives in the motherboard (as well as my AIO backplate and standoffs) . These drives were not backed up anywhere else and had so many of our family pictures and other important information on them. As you can imagine I was panicked. I called and spoke with a great tech support person at the Westmont store who put me at ease as he personally searched out the motherboard, removed the drives and placed them in an sealed anti-static bag with my name on it to pick up this morning. Then when I got there I forgot that I hadn't mentioned the backplate and standoffs that I left on there as well. And a second rep went to the back and sorted through what I can only imagine is a large amount of returned items to find my returned motherboard and get e those items as well.
The fact that all of these people would go above and beyond to help save me from my mistakes says alot about the professionalism of the staff and their genuine commitment to their customers. As I mentioned numerous times this morning, I can't thank them enough for all their help. I'll be a lifelong Microcenter customer and it's due to all the great people I've interacted with at this location.
Just wanted to make sure that devoted people get recognized.
