My Graphics card will not fit in my motherboards PCIe slot
Hi, So recently I got the new RTX 4090 graphics card along with the Asus ROG STRIX X670E-E GAM WF Motherboard. According to the online specs of the motherboard it has 2 PCIe 5x16 slots and one PCIe 4x16 slot. I tried to put my graphics cards into all three slots with no luck. I do not know what I am doing wrong and there is no where else online that has this issue. Also my Graphic card has a PCIe 4x16 connector according to the manufacture. Thanks.

It'll fit in any PCIe x16 slot physically. I imagine your card is likely a 3-4 slot cooler. Make sure you've removed the rear brackets so that the card can seat properly. Post a picture if you're still having issues.

Thanks mike. I tried it again and it just won’t seem to go in. I really am stumped and I have no idea what I can do to make it work. Here are some pictures of the graphic card and the pcie. I hope this can help.

Also I forgot to mention but removed 2 of the rear brackets here’s a picture.

Can you take a picture while you're trying to install it so that we can see what the issue is?

So when I try to push it into the pcie, it feels like it doesn’t want to slide right into it. I hope my pictures are good enough. It was kind hard to set it up to show. And I’m making sure the 2 metal parts on the side of the graphics card go into the 2 rear panels slots I removed.

Eureka I think I found my answer! I had to remove part of the mother boards plating. It’s shown in the picture attached to this comment. Because as soon I removed and put the flu it it clicked into place!

So it was impacting the SSD heatsink? I guess that's a potential issue with with the 3-4 slot coolers. Certainly strange. I imagine the PCIe clip above it has to be pushed down as well?
-
Ya I guess the heatsink was just protruding out and prevented me from putting in the card. I got my PC to work and now I'm going to work on the BIOS. Thanks again Mike for the help.
