Firmware between brand names

I have a Multoo MT2X (IDEX) printer and cannot seem to get it to work. Through the initial set up, the het bed works, the extruders heat up, the cooling fans turn on, and the machine will auto-home. When I attempt to calibrate, the extruder without the BL Touch decides to come out leaving the one with the BL Touch at home. It cannot find the heat bed. At this point I believe the firmware may be the issue. Can firmware be used between printers such as another brand of IDEX to mine? Or, does anyone have any recommendations/advice?

The company went out of business about a month after I purchased the printer, so I have no tech support.
