PC shuts down when trying to sleep

I built my pc a while ago but after some time I had this problem where it would shut down when I try to put it to sleep. the fans will keep spinning the just shut down. I fixed at first by resetting my PC, but after there was a power outage the problem is happening again. Does anyone know how to fix this? I keep thinking it might be my power supply but im not sure

Greetings, what parts do you have? To start it back up do you have to press the power button on the PC and it fully boots up Windows and everything?

I'd try to determine if it's an S3 or S4 issue first. From an elevated command line type: powercfg /h off

That'll disable S4 sleep, which is a deeper sleep main difference being S3 keeps your memory energized, S4 doesn't. S4 is a longer wake time. Also, if the power goes out in S3, you lost your state, in S4 you won't. It'll tell us more about where the issue is.
