CPU Upgrade for a PowerSpec B241
Anybody know what the best CPU for a PowerSpec B241 is? I was thinking about a Ryzen 7 2700x, but I'm not for certain it will work.
Also, if you happen to know the best RAM and the maximum I can install?
Thanks

Motherboard is an ASUS Prime A320M-K: https://www.asus.com/motherboards-components/motherboards/prime/prime-a320m-k/helpdesk_cpu/
You will need a BIOS update from ASUS to run the latest processors, but the 5862 BIOS supports the 5800X3D. One of the newest AM4 processors and one of the best gaming CPU's. You should have plenty of options to upgrade. Just make sure to check the minimum BIOS version and upgrade before swapping the CPU.

To add on to what Mike mentioned above, make sure you have a discrete GPU installed before swapping the processor. The PowerSpec B241 used integrated graphics and swapping to a non-G series processor means you will need a discrete GPU for video output.
As for RAM, I would personally recommend sticking with 2666Mhz memory as the A320M-K motherboard isn't exactly designed to operate at high memory frequencies. You might be able to run 3200Mhz on a new generation CPU, but you would risk system instability if you push too hard. As for capacity, the maximum that the board supports is 64GB (2x32GB), however I would recommend sticking with 16GB or 32GB. The higher your memory density, the harder it is to stabilize the memory.
