So I'm looking into building my own pc, and after some research, I chose my parts I just wanted to run it by someone who might know more than me. my budget was around 2k for the pc alone. Does it look good? what can I improve? Just want to make sure everything fits and is in working order. Also, I know the ram is a little low but I was planning on upgrading to DDR5 5200MHZ 32GB soon.
Cpu: intel i7 12700k
Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX B660-A gaming WIFI D4 ATX LGA1700 motherboard
Cpu cooler: nzxt Kraken x63 RGB 280MM
Graphics Card: Gigabyte Gaming OC Geforce rtx 3070 ti 8gb
Ram: Corsair Vengeance RGB pro 16gb DDR4 3200mhz
SSD: Samsung 970 Evo plus 1TB
power supply: Corsair CX750M 750W
Case: Corsair 4000d Airflow
The 4000D case will have clearance problems with a 280 in the top and a 280 looks a little odd in the front. I suggest you either get a 240 to put in top or a 360 to put in front.
If you want to change to DDR5 RAM at some point, that would need a whole new motherboard, you know?
instead of changing the cooler couldn't I just get a different case? and if so what case would you recommend? I didnt take into account that the motherboard supports DDR4 not 5 ram thanks for the note.
It's kinda hard to find a case that fits a 280 nicely. I have a 5000D and a 280 fits in top no problem but the space is long enough for a 360 so a 280 looks not long enough. I actually initially had a 280 radiator recycled from a prior system but it just looked too off.
That CPU is fine with a 240 AIO, is there some reason you must have the 280? Or why not a 360 in the front space?
so would a corsair iCUE H150i ELITE Capellix 75 CFM liquid cooler work? it's 360mm.
Those fit perfectly in a 4000D in the front, oriented vertically
