Boot device doesn’t show after installing new CPU

Hello I recently upgraded from a ryzen 5 3600 to a ryzen 7 5800x my motherboard supports 5000 series but I forgot to update bios before install. I installed the chip and when I booted up the system it brought me to a screen that had me press y or n it was about ftpm I’m not very knowledgeable about that. I press y thinking that I have never used big lock(don’t even know what it is). Anyways my computer boots directly to bios after start up. My drives show but no boot device. I’m stuck if you have anything I will try. And for reference I took out the new chip and installed the old one and my bios is up to date.

Thanks

Check CSM under "Boot" in the BIOS. Pretty likely it that it was enabled on the old BIOS. Extremely unlikely that's it enabled on the new BIOS. CSM enables legacy support. If the old OS install was legacy mode, and CSM is disabled, you won't be able to boot.
