Sound Blaster AE-9 PCIe 6-pin power from 8-pin Dell 7920 PSU

The SB AE-9 needs a 6-pin power jumper. There is an unused 8-pin power connector tagged P22 in the Dell. What cable or adapter is recommended to do this? Thanks! I found an 8-pin PCIe from a 6-pin supply but that is backwards. dennisw@aeanm.com

It's a propriety connector for Dell motherboards, it's not pinned like PCIe. Do NOT plug that into your sound card. Bad things will happen.

Thanks for the info!! I'm still looking for an adapter/jumper that will do the trick. I mistyped - it is P12 (not P22)

That looks like PCIe 6+2 to me. PCIe 6 is what the device requires per the manual. So you would just connect the 6 pin portion and tie the two ground back.

It worked!! First time in my life it was proper to insert an 8-pin plug into a 6-pin receptacle. Thanks for the help!
