Looking for help is there anyway to connect an e-gpu to a laptop with no thunderbolt port?

I have a hp - pavilion 16.1" gaming laptop - intel core i5 - 8gb memory - it doesn't have a thunderbolt port. It has  a nividia 1060. I just wanted to run games better but I can't afford a brand new system.

Thunderbolt is required because it can carry PCIe. I did some looking just to confirm, but really, there is nothing that is going to do it without Thunderbolt 3 or better.
